COE ASKS WEST HAM FOR MILLIONS

LONDON -- London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe says West Ham will have to pay at least 100 million pounds ($190 million US) if it wants to use the city's Olympic stadium as a soccer ground. The Hammers have been looking at the possibility of making use of a slimmed-down version of the stadium in East London after the 2012 Olympics. SERBIAN OUSTS TOP CANADIAN Power-spinning Aleksandr Karakasevic of Serbia beat Canada's top player, Wilson Zhang Peng, in six games Sunday to win the TMS Canada Cup table tennis finals at BCIT in Burnaby. The pair split the first four games, but Karakasevic, who earns his living in the German Bundesliga, won the next two 11-9, 11-7. Zhang Peng, who trains out of Ottawa, is hoping to acquire Canadian citizenship in time to compete for Canada at the 2008 Olympics.
