West Ham and Villa take the points

05/11/2006: Premiership round-up:  Marlon Harewood came off the bench to score a late winner as West Ham beat Arsenal 1-0 at Upton Park.  But tempers then frayed when rival managers Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger were involved in a shoving match on the touchline. Robin van Persie also appeared to be hit by a coin thrown from the crowd during the first half of a bad-tempered game, which ended with Wenger refusing to shake Pardew's hand. Tomas Rosicky and Van Persie had the visitors' best opportunities but, like their Champions League clash the previous Tuesday, could not find the finishing touch. Van Persie, who was constantly jeered by home fans, appeared to be struck by a coin just before the break and he was eventually substituted in the second half. When a draw appeared likely, Harewood finished from close range after Matthew Etherington had won the ball in midfield, earning West Ham back-to-back Premiership wins.
