West Ham are shuffling around their boardroom, with Magnusson succeeding Terry Brown as chairman, while also serving as executive chairman and chief executive. Scott Duxbury has being promoted to deputy chief executive while Nick Igoe is the new finance director. Aldridge was offered a position on the new West Ham board, but he declined the offer, and instead left the club by mutual consent. "It was a very difficult decision to decline the opportunity to join the new board of West Ham United under the chairmanship of Mr Magnusson," confirmed Aldridge. "It has been a privilege to have been part of such a wonderful time in the club's history. I wish Eggert and his new board the very best of luck, I am very confident that the club is in very good hands and that the future for all involved in the club is extremely exciting." Magnusson paid tribute to the role played Aldridge at the club over the years.
